I sing of Greyhound Bus

Due to VirtuMonde virus on my PC, composing this on laptop, tapping to the beat of "Never Goin' Back" from the album California Bloodlines by lately deceased Kingston Trio'er John Stewart -- a song that begins "Every time I see that Greyhound bus go rollin' down the line, makes me wish I'd taught much more to you when we had all that time."

Quite a few (not sure how many) songs have Greyhound bus in the lyric. A compilation for tuneful travelers could probably be burned to disc, called "Road Music" or "Hip Hop on the Bus, Gus"

It's been a while since I busted out a rap,
It won't be easy typin' on my lap
About the Greyhound interline,
And me and my companion intertwined
In back, next to the restroom,
Listening to the engine churn and baby howl,
Watching momma fumble for a towel. . .
Ah, the sights you see inside the bus and out;
The windows are all tinted, so you won't squint
While gazing at a cornfield, or herd of Kansas cows.
The people in the seats nearby chat across the aisle.
Somebody cracks a joke to make us smile.

to be continued....

Marion to Chicago

Leaves at 8:15 am ... arrives Chicago 6 hours later, at 2:15 pm. Much better than the 10:10 am schedule from Carbondale, arriving at 7:30 pm, which is longer because it goes via St. Louis. Weekday price: 55.50. From C'dale it's 57.50.
